🍎 iPhone Safe Mode (DFU / Recovery Mode)
Note: iOS does not have a traditional Safe Mode like Android. Instead, use Recovery Mode to troubleshoot.
- 1Connect your iPhone to a computer with iTunes or Finder open
- 2iPhone 8 or later: Quickly press Volume Up → Volume Down → hold Side button until Recovery screen appears
- 3iPhone 7: Hold Volume Down + Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds
- 4iPhone 6s or earlier: Hold Home + Sleep/Wake buttons for 10 seconds
- 5Choose Update (not Restore) to fix issues without losing data
💡 Quick Tip: If an app is causing problems, simply delete it from Settings → Apps. Recovery Mode is for serious system issues only.
To exit: Press and hold the Side button (or Home button) until the Apple logo appears.
🔷 Samsung Galaxy — Safe Mode
- 1Press and hold the Power button until the Power menu appears
- 2Tap and hold the “Power off” option on screen
- 3A popup appears: “Restart in Safe Mode” — tap OK
- 4Your phone restarts. You will see “Safe Mode” label in the bottom-left corner
💡 Alternative Method: Power off completely → Press Power button to turn on → As soon as Samsung logo appears, hold Volume Down until boot completes.
To exit Safe Mode: Simply restart your phone normally. Safe Mode does not stay permanently.
🟠 Xiaomi / MIUI — Safe Mode
- 1Power off your Xiaomi device completely
- 2Press and hold the Power button to turn it on
- 3As soon as the Mi / Xiaomi logo appears, hold Volume Down
- 4Keep holding Volume Down until the phone fully boots
- 5You will see “Safe Mode” text in the bottom-left corner of the screen
💡 MIUI Tip: In Safe Mode, only pre-installed system apps will run. All downloaded apps are temporarily disabled — this helps you identify which app is causing problems.
To exit Safe Mode: Restart your phone normally. If Safe Mode keeps coming back, check if Volume Down button is stuck.
🟢 Google Pixel — Safe Mode
- 1Press and hold the Power button until the Power menu appears on screen
- 2Tap and hold the “Power off” option
- 3Tap “OK” when asked to restart in Safe Mode
- 4Phone restarts with “Safe Mode” shown at the bottom of the screen
💡 Google Pixel Tip: Since Pixel runs stock Android, the Safe Mode process is the cleanest and most reliable. Third-party apps will be grayed out and unclickable in Safe Mode.
To exit Safe Mode: Pull down the notification bar and tap the “Safe Mode is on” notification, or simply restart your device.
